COMPLIANCE & RESPONSIBLE TRADE

1. Compliance principles

• Conduct business in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and contractual obligations.
• Use reasonable supplier, buyer and counterparty verification appropriate to the nature and risk of the proposed transaction.
• Reject bribery, corruption, fraud, falsified documents and unlawful payments.
• Apply sanctions, export/import, customs, anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing controls where applicable to the transaction and jurisdiction.
• Seek appropriate origin, specification, inspection, assay, quality, compliance and shipping documentation where commercially or legally required.
• Protect confidential business information and personal data in accordance with applicable obligations and MAAS policies.

2. Counterparty and transaction review

MAAS may request company-registration details, authorized signatory information, business references, product documentation, proof of authority, compliance declarations or other reasonable due-diligence information before progressing a transaction. The level of review may vary according to product, destination, origin, value, counterparties, payment structure and other risk factors.

MAAS may pause, decline or terminate discussions where documentation is incomplete, inconsistent or suspicious, or where MAAS identifies legal, sanctions, fraud, bribery, AML/CFT, reputational or other material compliance concerns.

3. Product information and specifications

Website product information is general only. Specifications, origin, quantity, quality, assay/chemistry, inspection method, certificates, price, availability, delivery, Incoterms and other commercial conditions must be confirmed for each transaction and documented in the relevant contract or accepted commercial instrument.

4. Supplier verification and responsible sourcing

Where appropriate, MAAS seeks reasonable verification of supplier identity, authority and product availability before treating an opportunity as commercially actionable. Verification may include company documents, direct communications, inspection or independent documentation, depending on the transaction.

5. Forest products

MAAS should not present protected, controlled or restricted species as ordinary catalogue items without confirming that the proposed trade is lawful and appropriately documented.

6. Anti-bribery and ethical conduct

MAAS does not support bribes, kickbacks or improper benefits intended to influence business decisions. Personnel and business partners acting on behalf of MAAS are expected to conduct themselves professionally and avoid misleading, fraudulent or corrupt practices.

7. Sanctions, trade controls and restricted transactions

International commodity transactions may be subject to sanctions, export controls, import restrictions, licensing requirements, vessel or port restrictions and other legal controls. MAAS may require additional information or decline involvement where a transaction cannot be reasonably verified as compliant.

8. Documentation integrity

MAAS expects documents supplied in connection with a transaction to be accurate, authentic and lawfully obtained. Suspected forged, altered or misleading documents may result in suspension or termination of discussions and, where required, referral to appropriate advisers or authorities.

9. Website inquiry security

The Sales & Purchase Inquiry form is intended for ordinary business information such as an RFQ, specification or company profile. Do not submit passwords, bank login details, full bank statements, unnecessary identity documents or other highly sensitive information through the public form.
